New Beverly Hills Diet
The New Beverly Hills diet is a revised version of the Beverly Hills diet. The original diet was created and publicized by Judy Mazel in the early 1980s. It was designed to assist a person seeking to lose weight fast. The principle behind the New Beverly Hills Diet is that the body needs to be allowed to digest foods and beverages consumed properly so as to maximize the burning of fat. When a person eats according to the principles of the New Beverly Hills Diet, the digestive system including important enzymes are able to break down foods properly- ultimately limiting the amount of fat stored in the body.
Unfortunately, the way many of us eat actually confuse the enzymes in our digestive system drastically reducing the efficiency in which they can break down foods and specifically fats, causing lots of fat to be stored instead of burned.
According to the New Beverly Hills Diet, in order to stop the enzyme confusion in our digestives system we must consume like foods with other like foods. For instance, fruits should only be eaten with other fruits. Meats should only be eaten with other meats and carbohydrates such as bread should only be eaten with like carbohydrates. When we combine different food groups, we confuse the enzymes and reduce the effectiveness of how they break down foods.
How Does the New Beverly Hills Diet Work?
As stated above, proteins should only be eaten with proteins, carbohydrates should only be eaten with carbohydrates and fruits should only be eaten with fruits. Besides these principles, there are other strict guidelines that should be followed while on the New Beverly Hills Diet including the consumption of beverages.
For instance, with the consumption of beverages, alcoholic beverages such as beer are considered to be carbohydrates, so they should never be used with proteins. And wine, since it is made from fruits, should only be used with fruits and never with carbohydrates and/or protein. The neutral drink is the champagne, which can be consumed with just about anything.
