Lemonade Diet

The Lemonade Diet or sometimes referred to as the Master Cleanse Diet has become very popular due to the fact that it relies on just a few simple ingredients and only lasts 10 days. Many individuals on this diet usually see a difference in their weight in a short period of time. While weight loss has become the focus of this diet, the original benefit of the Lemonade Diet includes the ability to detoxify your body of harmful toxins as well.

Preparing for the Diet

While the Lemonade Diet initially lasts 10 days, it can go as long as 40 days. The diet consists of lemonade, maple syrup (grade B maple syrup), cayenne pepper and an Epson salt or herbal laxative. During the first 10 days you will simply consume the lemonade which you will drink three to four times daily. In the night time, you will take a laxative.

Lemonade Diet Pros

The Lemonade Diet can be a good way to rid your body of toxins and other unwanted substances in the body. One way to know if you are near your goal of having a toxin-free body is by looking at your tongue. If your tongue is pink in color, then your body has a lowered amount of toxins. However, if your tongue has whitish parts of color on it, then you will need to continue with the lemonade Diet until your tongue turns pink. As for losing weight, the Lemonade Diet will help you lose weight due to the fact that you are consuming very little calories. For those going on this diet to detoxify your body, many dieters have stated that this diet is very effective at accomplishing this goal.

Lemonade Diet Cons and a Word of Caution

Obviously, only consuming lemonade, maple syrup and laxatives is dangerous. It is strongly advised that you consult with your doctor before starting this or any other diet program. For those looking to lose weight in a responsible manner, there are far better diets available that do not require you to only stick to drinking lemonade. While this diet may offer detoxification, for most people, the Lemonade Diet can be to extreme.
