Kashi GoLean

The Kashi GoLean Diet is a diet based on the individual eating supplements in the form of Kashi protein drinks, Kashi cereal and Kashi cereal bars. The Kashi GoLean Diet is based on a high fiber, low fat diet.

The Kashi GoLean Diet is said to be effective by reducing your calories to about 1200-1500 per day and suppressing your appetite. In order to follow the diet, you should consume Kashi products which comprise of a bowl of cereal, the daily protein shake and cereal bar. These products usually come to about 700 calories per day. These 700 calories also provides you with 100% of your daily fiber and protein needs, but very little fat (less than 20% of the daily recommended amount). Besides eating Kashi for breakfast and lunch, a sensible dinner is recommended.

Pros of the Kashi GoLean Diet

The Kashi GoLean Diet is a great way to reduce fat and lower cholesterol. It helps you lose weight by reducing your overall caloric consumption and in general is a healthy product. Similar to other cereal diets (e.g. Special K diet), the Kashi GoLean Diet is an inexpensive way to lose weight and suppress your appetite.

Cons of the Kashi GoLean Diet

Unfortunately, for many individuals sticking to one type of food for 50% of their daily caloric content is mundane and boring. In addition, drinking Kashi shakes and carrying along Kashi cereal bars can be inconvenient at times. The Kashi GoLean recommends exercise, but doesn’t include a specific regiment that enables muscle growth along with a reduction of fat. Another downside of this diet is that you have to purchase Kashi-specific products- which can be costly to some dieters. As always, consult with a physician before starting any diet or exercise program.
